Scott Smith, CCAM, CCAM-PM Principal
Scott was raised in Ohio and Connecticut and has lived in California since 1974. He received a B.A. degree from Boston University in Broadcast Journalism. Afterward, He accepted a commission in the United States Navy, serving a three-year tour of duty as the Public Affairs Officer for the Naval Construction Training Center in Port Hueneme, CA.
Upon leaving the Naval Service, Scott pursued studies at Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College, earning both a Th.G and B.A. degree while serving in various capacities at First Baptist Church in Costa Mesa. From 1981, Scott worked for the Cities of Irvine, Lakewood, and Moorpark in Community Services and Public Works and received a B.A. in Recreation Administration from California State University, Long Beach.
Scott entered the Homeowner Association management field in 1987 twice, serving as the on-site General Manager for large-scale single-family home associations in Orange County and as the Executive Manager for a large Community Management Company. In 2003, Scott founded South Coast Property Management, Inc., serving as Principal of the Company until its sale in 2020.
Scott holds the prestigious CCAM and CCAM-PM certifications from the California Association of Community Managers. He is extremely excited about using his talents and experiences as Principal of HOA Connection. He resides in Costa Mesa with his wife, Kelley.
